Had my daughters wedding here... The wedding breakfast was awful... Frozen roast potatoes, rock hard vegetables and definitely not worth the money they charged.... It did get better in the evening with the food.... But have to say that although we all really enjoyed the wedding Ruthin Castle needed a window cleaner... A lift or a porter (you charge enough) and generally needed an upgrade in lots of areas.... Beautiful building and setting.... Let down by chef and lack of investment unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it for the money we paid
Went to a wedding at the beautiful hotel. Inside and out however needs significant investment. It's a real shame that it is so run down. Breakfast was amazing and the medieval nights are superb!Definitely worth a look, even as a work in progress.
Absolutely fantastic place... Room was lovely.. Grounds are lovely.. Food was great.. The staff were fantastic, I would like to say a massive thank you to Andrea, not only was the hot stone massage amazing she help me. Oh and she said yes Andrea
Fun castle to explore on the outside. Unfortunately, we couldnt find an info booth or any signs to give us any information on the castle. Luckily the hotel in the Ruthin square had a photo and information regarding the occupants. It would have been nice to explore a part of the interior of the castle without having to book a hotel stay. Thats a bit cheeky. As for the garden, it was kept well but not to a a castles standards. Let me know if you need help with that.I thought about giving this a four star review but thought I d give them the benefit of the doubt. Information booth and souvenir shop would be lovely as well as a small tour of the inside. There wasnt even a donation box.
A beautiful Castle near the Welsh border, the room was substantial, the bed as soft as a cloud and all for a great price. We had drinks in the library and there were peacocks outside our window when we awoke. Simply a wonderful experience.
