Lovely cafe. Great fresh food well worth a visit
Working in the basis that little Cafes such as this one have to provide good food to make ends meet otherwise they're likely to be a) empty of customers or b) permanently closed, we took the plunge after noticing that there were quite a few people inside.Glad we did. Although the decor is a bit old world, (well what do you expect when the building was built around the turn of the Century? The 15th Century though!), the staff were pleasant and attentive. It appears that the Cafe has two menus. One is a set menu and if you're in the market for a hot breakfast, this is the one to go for.The second menu is the one on the blackboard, which clearly alters. There was a good choice of hot main meals all home made and a lovely selection of desserts.None of this "we've made your food into a miniature artwork" miniature being the size of the portions, no the meals were all generous sized, piping hot and very tasty. As a result sadly none of us had any space for a dessert.Nothing fancy about the place, as someone else has mentioned, it's cozy, but serves good tasty food and that is what it is all about in my book.
